The battle of the ‘unlimited’ carriers is heading into new territory.
Rogers’ budget-brand Chatr has just expanded their coverage in Montreal while upstart Mobilicity will be making its debut in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Ottawa sometime next month. Aside from these cities, according to Bloomberg, Mobiliticity is also planning to “offer up its services in Calgary and southern Ontario” though no date was mentioned as to when this will exactly happen. Chatr, for its part, is already available in Ottawa, Edmonton, and Vancouver so they’ll be going head-to-head in these areas starting in November.
Who will win this showdown? Only time will tell, but its hard to deny that the public stands to greatly benefit here as they'll be provided with more options, and hopefully, better services as these carriers roll out their services to more key cities across Canada.
