Airtel Wireless is officially the first Canadian carrier to offer up the first Android-based iDEN phone, the Motorola i1. We were originally expecting this to debut first on Mike (Telus), but it seems that they’re still not yet up to it and rather let Airtel get the spotlight this time around.
The Motorola i1 sports a 3.1-inch 320x480 resolution touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, push-to-talk, Android 1.5 as its OS, and ships with a 2GB microSD card. Its body also meets Military Specification 810F making it perfect when you’re roughing it up in the great outdoors.
It’s retailing for $299.99 on a 3-year contract or $399.99 contract-free. Interested? For more info, you can check it out here.
