The Motorola Milestone 2 is now official. Following the tradition set by its predecessor, the Motorola Milestone which is basically the international variant of the Motorola Droid, this one the re-branded version of the Droid 2 meant for the international market.
Specs are almost identical with what’s being offered by Verizon except for one thing, HD video recording. Unlike the Droid 2, the Motorola Milestone 2 boasts of 720p HD video recording via its 5-megapixel camera. Its other features include a 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, WiFi, 8GB of on-board memory, and Android 2.2 as its OS complete with MotoBlur. Just like the Samsung Epic 4G and HTC Evo 4G, this baby can likewise be turned into a mobile hotspot thanks to the tethering feature of Froyo.
Here's a promotional video of the Motorola Milestone2 that leaked on the internet prior to its official announcement:
It's scheduled to roll out in Europe in Q4 though pricing is still yet to be known. There’s no info yet on whether this will be released in Canada or not, but if it does, we’re looking at Telus as the likely carrier who will be offering this one up since they were the ones who launched the Motorola Milestone locally a year ago.
