RIM has updated their BlackBerry App World app store to version 2.0 beta and is now available for download at the BlackBerry Beta Zone. So, what’s new in version 2.0?
First off, they’re now finally allowing users to pay for apps in a variety of ways including through credit card and carrier billing as opposed to just being limited to Paypal. It also now features a top 25 listing, themes section, and introduces a new BlackBerry ID log-in system. Through this method, users can better keep track of their purchases, update their profile, etc. without being limited to one particular RIM smartphone. Last but certainly not the least, just like the Android Market, BlackBerry App World 2.0 now supports QR barcodes as well.
These changes are steps in the right direction that'll definitely help further improve the over-all App World experience, and we can't wait what other treats they'll have in store for BlackBerry users once they roll out the final version. If you want to check it out, you can download it here. Yeah, it’s limited to members only, but signing up for an account is actually easy so this shouldn’t really be much of a issue.
