No, the iPhone 4 isn’t available yet in Canada. It will be soon, but for those of you who just can’t wait and are already planning to get one elsewhere and just unlock it later on for use with the local carriers, this latest news should delight you guys.
The iPhone Dev Team has successfully unlocked the iPhone 4, and as proof, member planetbeing has posted a link on his Twitter to these pics showing off the iPhone 4 running on Bell. The iPhone 4 unlock tool itself isn’t available just yet to the public, but we’re optimistic they’ll soon have it ready for primetime given that they’ve already tested it out on an actual unit and it works.
The iPhone 4 is scheduled to become available in Canada this July though rumor has it that its release might be delayed until the early part of August. Major carrier such as Rogers, Bell, and Telus have all confirmed they'll have the iPhone 4 as part of their line-up, and for those who don't want to tinker around with new iPhone's firmware and baseband, the Apple Store Canada will also offer it up fresh and unlock to interested customers.
UPDATE: Ultrasn0w 1.0-1 is now available. You can read more about it here.
