Microsoft has just released Windows Live Messenger for the iPhone in the US, Canada, UK, and France.

Windows Live Messenger for iPhone

Apart from providing users with IM functionality, Windows Live Messenger for iPhone also features social networking integration with sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, and the like, direct in-app access to Hotmail, and support for photos complete with a built-in effects tool. Needless to say, this is more than just your average iPhone IM app. It’s free to download and looks worth checking out. Who knows, maybe Microsoft might even nab a few new users here and there because of their newest iPhone app offering. It's just a pity though that it's not available globally.

To download, just click here to be redirected accordingly to the iTunes App Store, or if you want to read more about it, you can find the full announcement here.
