It’s now official. After numerous rumors, the recently launched Motorola Backflip is now officially AT&T’s first Android phone.
This quirky backflipping QWERTY-equipped touchscreen Android phone has just been announced by AT&T and will be available beginning March 7th. For those not familiar with the Backflip, this baby comes with a 3.1-inch HVGA touchscreen, 5-megapixeal camera with flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, 7.2Mbps HSDAP connectivity, and Android 1.5 as its OS complemented by MotoBLUR.

The Motorola Backflip is set to retail for $99.99 on a 2-year contract with a smartphone data plan after a $100 rebate is applied. You can read the full press release here.
