We’ve seen how the Palm Pre can handle Quake thanks to the new webOS 1.3.5.1 firmware, and now, Palm is making things official by announcing that 3D games are now part of App Catalog store.

Palm Pre 3D games at the App Catalog store

As of this posting, there are already seven 3D games available right now at the App Catalog store all of which are only compatible with the Palm Pre. These include Need for Speed Undercover, The Sims 2, Monopoly, Asphalt 5: Elite Racing, Let’s Golf!, Glyder 2, and X-Plane. It’s not much, but as you can tell, there’s at least one game for almost every type of gamer. You can read the full press release here.

To help developers out, they’ve announced that the beta version of the webOS PDK (Plug-in Development Kit) will be released in March to help them take advantage of this new3D functionality. On a similar note, they also disclosed that an Adobe Flash Player 10.1 plug-in for webOS will soon be available in the App Catalog as well. Last, but certainly not the least, webOS 1.4 was also revealed to be forthcoming and brings along with it video recording and editing functionality.

Good news all around for Palm loyalists, more specifically those who own a Palm Pre. So, you guys have anything else on your wish list that you want Palm to grant this new year?
