The Kindle for iPhone app has been available at the App Store since March of this year. However, it wasn’t really available in most countries outside the US including their closest neighbor, Canada. That was then. Fast forward to the present, Amazon is now proud to announce that after a whole 9 months their Kindle for iPhone app is now available in more than 60 countries with Canada being one of them.
Here’s what Ian Freed, Vice President, Amazon Kindle had to say about the roll out of Kindle for iPhone app to other countrues:
We are excited to make the Kindle for iPhone App available to iPhone and iPod touch users in more than 60 countries, allowing them to access the vast selection of the most popular books, all available wirelessly from the Kindle Store. The Kindle for iPhone App is the perfect companion for customers who own a Kindle or Kindle DX, and a great way for customers around the world to download and read books even if they don’t yet have a Kindle.
The Kindle for iPhone app is completely free to download at the App Store and is compatible with both the iPhone and iPod Touch. It’s a little late in becoming available in the Canada App Store, but hey, at least it’s finally there already. You can read the full press release here.
