Nokia has announced their newest Mobile TV enabled offering, the Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition.
It looks like a splitting image of its namesake, the Nokia 5330 XpressMusic, but ditches the two-toned color scheme for a more elegant monochromatic finish. As its name suggests, this baby will come with DVB-H technology and will also feature Nokia’s Electronic Program Guide (EPG) which allows users to create personal channel lists. Similar to the 5330 XpressMusic, it packs a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 3.2-megapixel camera, 3G connectivity, 3.5mm jack, and provides easy access to social YouTube, Facebook, MySpace and their Ovi Store. Despite the slow roll-out of DVB-H Mobile TV services across the globe, Nokia is still optimistic about the future of Mobile TV even going as far as to predict that 300 million subscribers around the world will be watching TV on their cell phones by 2012. The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition will retail for €155 or $232 in the greenback when it hits the market. This is their 4th Mobile TV capable phone after the Nokia N92, N77, and their most recent one, the Nokia N96. Sadly though, since DVB-H Mobile TV services aren’t available in Canada, the chances of this new Nokia slider being released locally are pretty slim.
