Nokia Could Again Steal Show at MWC with Windows RT Tab

One of the biggest surprises at next year's Mobile World Congress could be Nokia's Windows RT tablet. Nokia was previously involved in talks with Qualcomm and Compal for a 10-inch tablet in early 2012. But Nokia scrapped the plans after Microsoft-branded Surface RT tablets were released. Nokia, which is known for its durable and well-designed phones, has resumed development of a Windows RT tablet in time for a February reveal, Digitimes, citing unnamed supply chain vendors in Taiwan, now reports.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Nokia used to be the world's top smartphone vendor but has since lost market share to Apple and Samsung at a time when the Finland-based vendor is still transitioning from Symbian to the Windows operating system.
  • The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is slated for February 25th to 28th in Barcelona, Spain.
  • Nokia stole the show in the MWC 2012 when it unveiled the 808 PureView, the first smartphone with a whopping 41-megapixel image sensor.
