LG Optimus G with Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU officially launched

The LG Optimus G, which has been the subject of numerous leaks, has finally been launched officially by LG in South Korea. When it arrives some time in Korea next month, the LG Optimus G will have the highly anticipated quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz and 4G LTE network connectivity. It will also pack other impressive hardware features which include the all-new Adreno 320 GPU, a 13-megapixel camera, 2GB of RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, and a built-in 2,100 mAh battery. The LG Optimus G also carries what is being referred to as a True HD IPS display that has a native resolution of 1280x768 pixels. It is scheduled for a global release some time later this year.

What Else You Need To Know:

- The LG Optimus G is the first Android smartphone in the world to support Qualcomm's next-gen Snapdragon S4 Pro processor.

- Despite it arriving at least a couple months after the launch of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the LG Optimus G will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich by default.

It will arrive in Korea next month (and on NTT Docomo in October or November as the L-01E in black and red, seen after the break) with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, not Jelly Bean.

As expected, the Android 4.0 smartphone has a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, a 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 IPS display, 2GB RAM, and a 13-megapixel camera.
