Facebook Home Hits 1 Million Downloads

Facebook Home has reached 1 million downloads only four weeks after the social network released the Facebook-centric launcher for Android. Facebook's Director of Mobile Engineering Cory Ondrejka said Facebook is rolling out this week a new version of the app that removes bugs and improves performance. Over the coming months, new features would be added, including folders for apps, a dock that lets users place their favorite apps at the bottom of the launcher, and the ability to easily launch chat sessions in Chat Head mode as well as respond to messages.

What Else You Need To Know

  • The milestone is impressive since the Facebook-centric launcher works only on less than a dozen devices, which include the HTC One X, HTC One X+, HTC First, the Samsung Galaxy S3, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
