Execs to See Samsung Galaxy S 4; Public to Wait Until May

A Samsung unit said that the fourth iteration of the flagship Galaxy S smartphone won't be available until May. Reuters previously reported that the Galaxy S 4 would be launched in April but the Lebanon unit of Samsung in its official Facebook account points to a May launch date. Samsung is not expected to unveil to the public the Galaxy S4 at the CES 2013 expo in Las Vegas on January 8th to 11th but reports say that a Samsung exec would show of the prototype to executives of high profile partners and carriers.

  • SamMobile touted a purported press shot of a GS4 prototype that has no home-button, has a thinner bezel around the screen, and a larger display -- although the image's authenticity remains in doubt at this point.
  • The newest model of Samsung's top selling smartphone is rumored to have 5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen, a quad-core 2.0 GHz Exynos CPU, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel camera, and the latest Android operating system.

It was already suspected that the Galaxy S4 could be a no show at CES, and could even skip the Mobile World Congress in February as well. If Samsung is targeting May for the smartphone's launch, then anxious Android users should have some news to look forward to once April rolls around. - Scott Nichols , Tech Radar
