AT&T's New 4G LTE Offerings Are Windows 8 Slates From Samsung and ASUS

AT&T is jumping on the Windows 8 bandwagon, announcing that it would be carrying the ASUS Vivo Tab RT and the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Windows 8 tablets for its 4G LTE network. The mobile carrier hasn't provided pricing and availability, other than saying that the slates will be on sale for the holiday shopping season. The Vivo Tab is touted as the first quad-core Windows RT 4G LTE tablet. The ATIV Smart PC run on the full blown Windows 8, is powered by an Intel Clover Trail processor, and is bundled with a detachable keyboard dock that turns the device to an ultrabook.

  • The Vivo Tab RT has a 10.1-inch display, a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, and Windows RT operating system.
  • The ATIV Smart PC has an 11.6-inch display with 1,366 x 768 resolution, 64GB of storage, and Intel Clover Trail 1.5GHz dual-core processor.
