Apple reported at its earnings call that it sold 10 devices per second in its fiscal first quarter of 2013, which included the holiday season. The tech giant sold 75 million iOS devices in a single quarter: 47.8 million iPhones, 22.9 million iPads, and 12.7 million iPods. Eye-popping sales of mobile devices helped Apple report $13.1 billion in profit on $54.5 billion of total revenue, which are record figures but still bellow expectations by Wall Street analysts. CEO Tim Cook boasts that Apple has sold half a billion iOS devices to date.
