One of the most flexible, well-built 2-in-1s

The 2017 version of the Surface Pro is fun to tote around as a tablet, and it’s a competent Windows PC for most tasks (don’t expect killer gaming performance). If you travel a lot or tend to work on the couch like I do, prep for a little frustration. Still, I rarely stay mad at the Pro for long. It’s far from perfect, but there just isn’t another device that can do as much.

The most massively improved Surface yet

Microsoft Surface Pro 5

from TechRadar

We’re surprised Microsoft has refrained from calling this the Surface Pro 5, as it’s the biggest improvement on a Surface we’ve ever seen. Despite losing the included Surface Pen, the Surface Pro’s huge improvements help it retain our Recommended award.

A nice balance of performance and cost

Microsoft Surface Pro 5

There’s not much to fault the Surface Pro, in all fairness. It is designed to be a simple workhorse for the executive on-the-go so it is no surprise that it comes with just a 3.5mm headphone jack, a DisplayPort and a USB 3.0 port to support your daily grind. Good thing too is that the...More

There’s not much to fault the Surface Pro, in all fairness. It is designed to be a simple workhorse for the executive on-the-go so it is no surprise that it comes with just a 3.5mm headphone jack, a DisplayPort and a USB 3.0 port to support your daily grind. Good thing too is that the battery lasts me a full day of moderate use. If you are looking for a full-featured laptop with huge internal storage (like on disks) and lots of USB ports then do look elsewhere.

Forget about money for a second and the Microsoft Surface is an incredible product. It's a tablet, it's a laptop replacement and it could even be a desktop replacement too. Work, play, creative endeavours and basic gaming, this thin, light, excellent looking piece of tech can cover all the bases. That in itself is an incredible achievement, but before we give the Surface Pro 10/10 and call it a day, let's talk about price. This thing is prohibitively expensive. The price is absolutely a reflection of the quality of the product and indeed the accessories. Everything from the keyboard cover right through to the pen is exceptionally constructed. That said, the fact the keyboard cover is a must-have only compounds the pricing issue, as does the limited number of ports and good, but not great, battery life.

The new Surface Pro is Microsoft's most powerful hybrid device to date - and doubtlessly also its best. The company has clearly learnt from past models of the device to craft something which is easy to use and beautiful to look at. The battery life improvement removes what for many people was the biggest downside to the previous generations, with the new Surface Pro comfortably lasting for a full work day. However the device also remains a great product to use, with easy set up and usability, as well as looking fantastic and offering excellent portability. The only downside is a slightly wobbly keyboard, and a lack of ports - although these are fairly minor points.

Close, but not quite close enough

Microsoft Surface Pro 5

from Notebookcheck

With the i7 2017 Surface Pro, Microsoft has created a convertible tablet that fulfills many, but not all promises. Workmanship, display and battery runtime are, without a doubt, state of the art. Its competitors, such as Acer's Switch 5, cannot keep up here.

The new Surface Pro is a superb 2-in-1. It’s beautifully built and performs well. The screen is excellent and even the speakers sound good. However, it’s very expensive, especially when you add the cost of the Type Cover and – if you need one – the Surface Pen. Few will opt for the base model, and you’ll pay a heck of a lot more for a Core i7. Ultimately, while a fantastic device, it’s hard to recommend the Surface Pro unless money is no object.

Excellent software compatibility

Microsoft Surface Pro 5

The iterative nature of the 2017 Surface Pro doesn't detract from the fact that this is an excellent 2-in-1 and a worthy update on 2015's Surface Pro 4. The machine itself certainly feels like five-star material, with some of the most refined design work in its class, both aesthetically and from an engineering standpoint.

You are forced to make many attempts. I prefer the SIM holder on my old Nokia, you slot it in place in seconds without difficulties. The clock is not accurate & can't be altered, it's supposed to do this itself but doesn't. The clock is a major feature of any cell phone & much needed. The other features are good & easy to use Less

Love the build of this phone. A sure shot head-turner. The UI is pretty slick and does a better job than my doubly priced Android phone. The Live Tiles is a refreshing change and Here Maps is just amazing.

I got this phone after reading a lot of reviews and believing its much created hype. To be true, I found it to be very true and it was all worth the wait. This Windows-10 ready phone is something that is your perfect partner when you have a lot of work pressure and you need to provide instant results. Office 365 subscription simply shoots the value for money quotient of the phone up to the sky. The phone’s battery is long-lasting and can easily last for a day. Multi-tasking is certainly one of the best characteristics of the phone. Camera of the phone impresses when the lighting conditions are good. I had considered a lot of other options and am glad that I made this choice. Less
