The Plantronics BackBeat Pro 5100 totally wireless earbuds are comfortable to wear and stylish enough to go from the office to the gym. Battery life is above average for true wireless earbuds and sound quality makes any genre of music sound true to form. Pairing the earbuds took a few tries but aside from that, these are a fine option for exercise enthusiasts and general consumers alike.

Gadget Guy

Good sound, solid battery life

from Gadget Guy

I liked the BackBeat Pro 5100 earphones. The little buds sounded rather good and worked very reliably. The buttons were lightly enough sprung to be easily usable. And they used little space, so they were convenient to carry with me all the time.

Best true wireless earbuds if you all you do is call

Good sound, great battery life

from G Style Magazine

Plantronics has made some strides this year with their truly wireless headphones and the BackBeat PRO 5100s are a step in the right direction. You are getting your money’s worth for a pair of earbuds that have a great battery life and are active noise cancelling while also hovering under the $200 mark.

Price and MicroUSB spoil these great true wireless buds

That's not to say the Pro 5100 does anything necessarily wrong — well, beside the MicroUSB charging port, and even that might not be a dealbreaker for some. It has a tiny profile, superb fit and comfort, good sound, and some quality of life improvements like the interchangeable primary bud or sensors. It can be perfect for the everyday commuter, the coffee shop freelancer, and anyone who wants decent sound quality and convenience on the go... provided they did their research and prefer it over the Galaxy Buds or Sony WF-1000XM3.

Probably going to sound good enough for most people

Even if they lack premium flourish, the Plantronics BackBeat Pro 5100 hit a lot of the same notes as the best true wireless earbuds do. They’re effortlessly compact, reliable in the right circumstances and offer more than enough battery life that you’re free to stop worrying about them going dead on you. Unless you’re looking for the best, what else can you realistically expect from them? The one catch here is that the BackBeat Pro 5100 are a little more expensive than I’d like.
