Marshall does need to consider the competition more when pricing its headphones. It’s a tough market out there for Bluetooth headphones today. The S$549 Monitor II A.N.C. will find a tough time matching its Sony rivals, which are selling for only S$389 now and provide better performance and support for LDAC and aptX HD Bluetooth streaming technologies, which the Marshall headphones do not. Perhaps Marshall thinks its legacy in the professional music scene can give it more street cred, or that it’s retro design can command a higher profit margin. That would be a pity, because the Monitor II A.N.C. do produce decent audio, which should be their main selling point. They just need to be priced right in this market.

Raise the bar for design and battery life

from KnowTechie

Arguably, the one area where the Marshall Monitor II ANC headphones excel is when it comes to design. The controls are excellent, and the overall package looks incredible. It wins points for battery life and sound quality too, although the lack of codec compatibility is a huge bummer. It’s also not the best for calls.

Rock solid headphones, but not quite a headline act

There's so much to like about the Marshall Monitor II ANCs – they have bags and bags of character (something of a rarity in a sea of almost-identical bland modern cans), not to mention bags and bags of battery life too. The sound is great and the controls are the most dependable on the market. Unfortunately, the noise-cancellation isn't as rocking as some similarly-priced rivals on the market.

Marshall made a lot of good decisions in putting together the Monitor II A.N.C. that directly address some of my biggest problems with the predecessor. Simply by cleaning up the responsiveness of that little control knob, these new Monitors are much more pleasant to use. Noise-cancellation is a welcome addition, as is the arrival of a USB Type-C port, and while I worried the new rotating earpieces felt a little loose at first, I quickly not just became comfortable with them, but grew to prefer them.

Sublime sound

from Windows Central

The Marshall Monitor II ANC is the best-sounding headset I've ever used, complemented by huge battery life and a gorgeous, timeless design. The noise cancellation works incredibly well, and the calling features and on-ear controls are convenient for traveling music lovers. As long as you learn what each and every control does, that is.

The Marshall Monitor II ANC headphones are good at active noise cancelling, have a great build and design, are easy to use, and are perfect for commuters and frequent flyers alike. Unfortunately, they don't exist in a vacuum and for a similar price there are headphones that offer just a little bit more. Still, if you're a fan of the classic Marshall design these are a no-brainer.

So it is only the classic design and the brand itself that will draw consumers to the Marshall headphones. So go and get the Marshall Monitor II A.N.C. if you love the brand and the design appeals to you. The headphones are worth the money.

The Marshall Monitor II ANC are a set of rocking headphones that look every bit the part. Despite being full-sized headphones, they are fairly slimline, with classic styling that sets them apart. They are robust, fold up to be much more compact than rivals and are far more comfortable than many – if you want to rock out for hours on end, they have the fit to make sure you can last as long as their 30 to 45-hour battery will.

Other similarly priced headphones offer better sound – but for those who like a fashion-conscious pair of headphones, the Monitor II ANC push the right buttons.
