In the age of modern communication, cell phones have become integral parts of our lives. Gradually, landline phones are replaced by mobile phones because of their portability. But most of us have very little knowledge on the proper use of a cell phone battery. Here are some tips to prolong the lifespan of your cell phone battery:
Keep an eye on your battery’s temperature: Battery life can be increased if you store your battery in a cool place. Be careful and avoid keeping it in high temperatures, especially inside a heated car or on your dashboard in the middle of summer. Excessive heat can drastically reduce the overall life of your battery. Don’t keep your battery in too cold places either. It can also damage your battery.
Use only recommended chargers: Avoid using those cheap chargers available at street vendors. Low quality chargers reduce the overall battery life. Also, avoid buying car chargers that attempt to charge your battery in the fastest amount of time. Such chargers are harmful to your battery.
Avoid total Discharging of lithium ion batteries: Most of the batteries available in the market are lithium ion batteries and these batteries if once get fully discharged become tough to get recharged again and eventually losses life. Switch the phone off if it shows a low battery level. But if you are using a nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery, it is important to condition (fully discharge and then fully charge) the battery every two to three weeks.
