It comes with a better design, offers long battery life without any cover and is waterproof. If you need a waterproof e-reader and can spend a premium just to read books, go for it, otherwise there are a lot of cheaper Kindles, including the 2015 Paperwhite that is available at half the cost .

Mobile Syrup

Once again, Kindle has managed to create the Rolls Royce of e-readers. Whether it’s worth the price tag is ultimately a personal choice but one thing I can attest: it’s the best e-reading experience I’ve had to date.

For voracious readers, the Oasis does have it all, otherwise. The screen is great, the extra lighting helpful, the waterproof body useful. Having LTE connectivity always means a new book is a tap away, no matter where you are.

If you want the best and the brightest (no pun intended), and money is no object to you, the Kindle Oasis will not disappoint. The new wider display makes reading such a joy, and I can’t wait to put the Oasis to good use over the holidays.

Firstpost

This is the best e-reader around, but its ergonomics could have been better

from Firstpost

Amazon Kindle Oasis is easily the best iteration of the Kindle out there. The idea to go with a larger display size is quite interesting and you get a lot more text per page as compared to the older Kindles. The Oasis is well-built and the water resistance feature will be liked by a lot of readers who want to read near water bodies.

A lot of money to pay for what is just an ebook reader

It's significantly more expensive than something like the Paperwhite while not really being significantly better. If you already have a Kindle and want to upgrade or just want to get the best Kindle available, largely because you can and not because you must, then the Oasis makes sense.

NDTV

The best of what Amazon has to offer

from NDTV

We didn't like it as much as the original. We feel that it could have been designed better in terms of the grip and the rear texture, and the lack of a case feels like a downgrade. If the large screen and a waterproofing appeal to you, the new Kindle Oasis is a good buy.

The Indian Express

Bigger screen, and is more durable than its predecessor

from The Indian Express

Well, this is clearly the most premium Kindle you can buy. It is also thinnest, lightest, brightest and most advanced Kindle ever. But all that comes at a price and I am not convinced the premium really makes sense when the more affordable Kindles do such a good job.

The Kindle Oasis provides the best ebook reading experience money can buy. It’s just not a huge upgrade over the excellent model from last year.

Remains a pricey product that’s likely to attract only the most obsessive of Kindle fans

from TrustedReviews

It’s expensive and a few of the design changes won’t suit all, but the bigger screen and waterproofing make it the perfect choice for die-hard e-reader fans.
