Can be a great addition to your wallet if Delta is your carrier of choice. Its $195 annual fee may seem high when compared to the fairly similar and cheaper Gold Delta card, but you get more benefits in return. Although I think the ability to fast-track Delta elite status is where the Platinum card shines the most, the annual companion certificate is also extremely valuable and can help you more than offset the card’s higher annual fee.

The American Express Platinum Delta SkyMiles Card is a nice card for Delta loyalists who want more from their Delta card. Its value lies in its free checked bags perk and the Annual Companion Certificate. The Delta Platinum Card is a nice balance between annual fees and perks. For $195 per year, you’re getting most of the perks the Delta cards have to offer. But you’re also not breaking the bank with a $450 annual fee. Less is more for some travelers.
