Started by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales in July 2015, The People's Operator (Also known as TPO Mobile) was a prepaid
carrier using the Sprint and T-Mobile
networks. As part of their branding, they allowed subscribers to choose charities and a portion of their monthly
bill would be donated to causes they wanted to support.
On November 27, 2018, TPO Mobile announced that they would be shutting down their US service and would transfer
existing subscribers to a competing prepaid carrier Ting.
Since they also provide service using the T-Mobile and Sprint
networks, existing TPO mobile devices should be compatible.
