All the cons have probably been listed. I'll sum that up by saying there is nothing available that compares... this is bleeding edge hand held computer technology, and it's not for people afraid to do some work to get it working perfectly. Which it does do. Between full factory resets :) With less than $100 of carefully selected software, the device becomes incredibly usable compared to uncustomised out of the box. The remaining big problem is that one needs activesync to connect it to the pc. Bleh. The machine of my dreams, and what I hope to get next, will have a slightly larger screen, be tablet format, and run pc software. My UX3800 Vaio comes close, but isn't a phone. Less

Hello everyone! I've had this phone for 6 months and at first I had problems with the battery not lasting for long but there's a trick for it! You have to click on the power button on top to turn off the screen. THIS DOES NOT TURN OFF THE PHONE! It just turns off the screen to save you battery and you can do that when you're in a call. Simple after dialing a number or picking up press the power button and this will turn off the screen but will not affect any other process!!! It froze for a couple of times and if you forget to turn off the screen the battery eventually dies so you have to check on it every couple of hours to make sure someone hasn't texted you because that will turn on the screen and keep it on even if the backlight is off because if the backlight is off that doesn't mean you're saving power YOU HAVE TO TURN OFF THE SCREEN BY PRESSING THE POWER BUTTON AT THE TOP!! WIFI AND TEXTING ON THIS PHONE IS THE BEST!!! And the big screen makes it easy to text and view websites!! not to mention MS office and the organizer and the camera!! All in all it's a good phone and highly recommended for people who text and surf alot! Battery is not a problem after figuring out the power button thing!! Less

Camera is modest quality but does have a bright light in place of a flash. Slide out keyboard has nice feel but is not well lit. Less

Even though I have it charged over night, Phone goes dead after a five minute call. I hate touch screen key pad, unless your a five year old child that has small fingers, I guarantee your hitting more than one number at a time. All in all, I want to throw this phone against a brick wall. Piece of s*** is all I can say. Less

OK after a year and 2 months of dealing with this phone here is the good and the simply horrific. Good: Through Telus Mobility I have great reception and have never dropped a call. Good: WiFi simply rocks!! Fast, easy set up Good; EVDO net connection. Fast enough. Not cheap though Good: Keypad is tactile, robust and easy to use Good: Office Mobile Suite is critical for me at work and it's fantastic Good: Active Sync works great for me. Never had a problem. Unfortunate that others have. Simply Horrible: Cell phone dialer sucks. It's touchscreen keys are simply horrific. Simply Horrible: If ringer is set to "vibrate and ring" you can't answer the phone. No way, no how. Simply Horrible: Windows Mobile 5 is awkward and bulky. Can't find an upgrade to 6 or 6.1 Simply Horrible: Had to replace the battery cover twice already ($20 Cdn each time). Simply Horrible: Unexplained replog.exe errors. Simply Horrible: No Canadian support on the UTC website. I want to love this phone but lately I've been just as closing to throwing it into a wall just to watch it explode. And, because I'm locked into a three year contract, I'm stuck with it for a while. Why oh why didn't I spring for an HTC? Less

Bought this phone for my wife, on paper it looks great. Replaces a pda, mp3 player, digital camera (occasional use), and can be used to for light internet use. We loved that it comes with the Mobile Office (MS Word and MS Excel which we use all the time). She didn't have an iPod yet so this was a great option for her. Right out of the box this phone was a problem. After loading the software we could not get the phone to sync correctly. I spent 2 hours every day for 2 weeks trying to get all of the functions to work correctly. Multiple visits to the tech support forum and on the phone with tech support. Now I'm a faily savy guy. I built my computer from scratch. If I can't get the software to work correctly there's something wrong. This phone was a huge waste of money. It just never delivered, at the time it was about $400 out of pocket. I don't have the words to describe what a massive dissapointment this phone is. Less

Hi everyone, I am a business owner from Ottawa, Canada.. August (2007) marked the 1-yr mark for owning this phone...what a mess!! As most others have mentioned it started off great, then within a few months, things got weird.. touch screen malfunctions, terrible reception..ridiculous ratio of dropped calls (between 40-60%).having to press the key pad (or screen) up to 5x to either dial/end a call. And this past week, things ''hit the fan'' .. I was leaving the office, and grabbed the phone off it's cradle charger..and noticed the screen was white...so I re-booted, removed/re-inserted the battery etc...still with no luck. So I contacted my provider (Telus) ...and they gave me 2-choices (I should probably mention that even the Telus employee rolled his eyes when I pulled out the phone...it turns out it's a very popular phone...in the complaints department that is)Anyway....choice #1: Send it away for repair at full cost, to me. Choice #2: Buy a new one at full price... ..I was disgusted by what I was hearing... my own provider couldn't even help. Now, given that I was on a plan, I had a warranty...but wouldn't you know it... it ran out in August. ..My next step was to contact Telus' Customer Loyalty & Retention (the last bet before switching companies)---to make a long story short, the nice kind voice on the other end, offered me a much more interesting option., to replace my UT Starcom with a very nice Samsung model, at a 1/4 of the retail price. So in the end, the provider pulled through with flying colours, UT Starcom however...not so much. So honestly people, take it from me, I'm not a super ultra hard to please picky kind of person...but I will tell you this phone is a nightmare, stay far from it... especially people who's business depends largely on quality, dependable, communication with clients/suppliers/distributors etc... this phone will offer you none of the above. Thanx for listening :) Chris Ottawa,Canada www.exotikatattoos.com Less

WiFi is great, bluetooth also, though I had some issues connecting to different bluetooth headsets. The phone aspect is okay. Sometimes it hard to hear, so thank god for the headset. In the 10 months that I had this phone it has froze on me twice, what can I say, Microsoft is running this phone :) Overall this PDA phone works great. I would recommend for any sales reps that work often on the road. Or anyone that has a terrible memory like me :) Less

Wonderful for using the internet, be prepared to pay Sprint extra for this! Actually be prepared to pay for any extra services or software and the software is expensive from Handango. The Speaker to hear callers and the same speaker to use for speaker phone SUCKS! I constantly have to ask my callers to repeat themselves and speak up! Its annoying. I use the internet on it daily to check email or look things up but getting the software for AOL, Yahoo or other IM is annoying to use. The camera on it is decent. Keyboard is nice to use. The Stylus keeps falling out, not secure so either you use tooth picks or other objects if you loose your stylus and dont have a replacement. I've figured out finally that alot of the issues I see others complaining about has alot to do with knowing what all the settings do. But once you learn it all, its time to upgrade and you need to be fairly tech or computer friendly to operate it to get good use out of all the features. Its a good little gadget for what I needed it for with a few minor complants I'd love to see fixed. Less
