Probably the most annoying thing is that it dials emergency numbers in your pocket (fair enough, most phones do) but retains the number on your screen indefinitely until you inadvertently press call. The text messaging has numerous flaws, too many to list here and the calling craps out on me too. Also, the tones for ringing etc are pathetic. Less

Good for talk Con: I agree with all of the other cons I have read but recently the people I call say that I sound far away and I have to yell into the phone for them to hear me. I use to make fun of those people but now I'm just embarassed. Using experience: 6 months I never did like this phone, and now that I can't really talk on it I think it is junk. Anyone know what I can do to maybe fix my problem? Any answers would be appreciated. Less

Piece of total garbage.

This is now the 3rd time I am bringing this phone in for warranty. The first time was for a dying microphone, the second time was for blank white screen that would take over until you hard booted, and now it just erratically drops signals- In the middle of Vancouver, outdoors! This phone is terrible. I will never buy a Sanyo product again.

IF your texting

If your texting, just go back to mailing letters, this phone sucks more than a dyson vaccum, trust me, i owned an older sanyo phone, 3 times faster for everything, and it was OLDER WTH??? i am purposely going to break this phone so i can get a loaner phone and text better,POS nothing good to say about it, besides its thin.

BOOOO-urns ! ! ! ! !

I thought technology was supposed to advance.... The lag on text is terrrible, I get shitty reception out of the unit (and yes I'm aware that holding it a certain way screws with it), and then one day a couple weeks ago I pull it out of my pocket and the p.o.s. is turning on and off, over and over agai...More

The lag on text is terrrible, I get shitty reception out of the unit (and yes I'm aware that holding it a certain way screws with it), and then one day a couple weeks ago I pull it out of my pocket and the p.o.s. is turning on and off, over and over again. It would turn on, get to the SanyoS1 screeen and then shut off. Had to take the battery out to make it stop. Solo tells me I gotta pay $55 shipping and handling to have it sent in for warranty repairs. I don't wanna fix this piece of junk, I'd rather put the $55 towards a new phone. The original Razr has been the best phone I've had to date. Simple and tough. I say boo to Sanyo and their S1. Less

S1 cell

THis phone is crap dont buy it!! The T9 messaging lags something cruel. If you text message I would stay well clear of this phone. I was mad when they wouldnt take it back.. Im never buying Sanyo again.

Good for me. =)

I've had this phone for the past 2 years... and it's served me well! I'm an unrully person sometimes and throwing my phone across the room is common.. And the phone has lived and is still in wonderful condition.. I don't have any paint chiping... the texting does freeze if you go to fast, but if you know what you're typing you can predict the freeze and keep texting.. eventually it catches up (it might have missed a few letters and you'll have to go back and fix it but oh well.) i skateboard, hike, and run around alot and no matter how many times I've dropped it on the concrete or a puddle it survived.. not to mention landed on it after a screwed up tricks on the skateboard... it's a great beginner phone for someone who just needs a phone. it's my 4th phone and it's held up the best for me. there isn't a camera, or mp3 player or whatever.. it's a basic phone. and that;s what i bought it for.. it's not a phone for someone who wants to send and receive a lot of pictures and music... you can upload your own pictures with an outside program like i did, same with mp3.. it doesn't have a lot of memory for those things though. it doesn't ahvea spot for a meory card and doesn't connect to the computer.. but like i said.. it's a basic phone... but who needs all that when there's sony mylo's, ipods, and laptops??? i sure don't. i like it. but then i wanted a phone that was basic... and that's what it is.. basic. =) Less

Basic Slow Phone... NOT WORTH IT

I've had the Sanyo s1 for about a year and i can't stand it. Yes it is a very durable and basic phone, but the texting is very slow and the paint chips easily. I also find myself missing the camera and MP3 player features.

Me again

*UPDATE* SURVIVED A GALLON OF PAINT!!!!!!!! I dropped it in a gallon of paint today...and it survived!!!! It still works, just the buttons are a bit sticky sometimes. lol Im still replacing it...my dad things it will die

Good enough

-bad t9 txting (just garbage) >takes too long to use t9 and it messes up way to much -most people tend to tell me that i sound quiet -fairly durable..paint chips a bit or the screen scratches, but it is fairly durable -It used to freeze when I use t9 if it gets too far behind -I dropped it in a gall...More

Most the buttons still work...Weird! -good layout and good quality, just dont like the txting Less
