The SGH-T819 is yet another slider from Samsung. Unfortunately, aside from its coffee brown color, Samsung does not bring anything too exciting to the table with this model. While a competent phone with a mid-level feature set, it would be great for Samsung to break loose with its creative resources and put some Umph! into this slider.
While not breaking any new ground, the Samsung SGH-T819 is a good device that offers a 1.3MP camera with five quality settings and several photo editing capabilities (no flash), MP3 player, Bluetooth 2.0, voice dialing, speakerphone and 30MB of onboard memory that can be expanded via microSD.
The form is compact but not compromised, weighing in at 3.2 ounces and measuring 3.96” x 2.03” x 0.55”, it’s easy to hold. It offers a 2.0 inch display capable of 262,000 colors and the thumb grip is a nice touch, allowing you to slide the phone open with ease. The volume rocker is on the left spine and the headset/charger jack and microSD slot on the right spine.
Other features include a versatile phone book, calendar, notepad, task list and calculator. You can also PC sync the SGH-T819.
Although not decisively distinguishable from other slider devices, it is nonetheless a capable phone with a unique color.
