Informr score
The Samsung Rugby II currently has an Informr score of 5.3 out of 10. This score is based on our evaluation of 7 sources including reviews from users and the web's most trusted critics.

The aptly named Samsung Rugby II (A847) is an update/refresh to the SGH-a837. Built to withstand shock, dust, rain, humidity, solar radiation, vibration and altitude and temperature extremes, it most definitely is rugged.

Improvements over the SGH-a837 include an improved main display, better camera, international 3G data capability, all while losing over an ounce in weight.

The Rugby II is a well built GSM clamshell which can perform in almost any environment. It boasts an external, 1.3 inch display, an internal, 2.2 inch main display, featuring 240 x 320 pixel resolution, and a thoughtful navigation array more spacious and sure to the touch than many phones of similar design. Users with find the layout familiar and comfortable.

Unlike other tough-guy phones that are impenetrable but limited, the Rugby II offers a full suite of features, including Push to Talk, GPS navigation, stereo Bluetooth, expandable memory via microSD (up to 32GB), video-sharing, a 2MP camera, along with a complete list of entry-level features, too.

With the Rugby II you can send and receive email, text, MMS, play music, even use the phone for data tethering for your laptop (at an additional cost).

Rated at 3 hours of talk time and 250 hours of standby time, the Samsung Rugby II is designed to work hard when you need it most.
