This phone is okay, but i've had better

this phone has good battery life great camera and good for calls, but it's basically impossible to text. ow I have the LG Neon which is better but this phone is better for older adults.

Ok For Texting

Ok for texting, but not great for talking. For some reason, my phone has alot of static and even on high some of my friends can't hear me but I can pick up my neighbor's portable phone real clear. I wouldn't buy this one twice.

Great phone, but extremely poor bettery life.

I bought this phone from Telus and i loved the good things about it. But the poor battery life ruined my days and the phone wasn't on when i needed it. For that I wouldn't recommend it. The good: -Physically tough, aided with a plastic shell it took many hits and served me ver very well. -Great Buttons and menu: The favorites buttons on the side let you add your own short cuts for quick use. The buttons feel great (i have big fingers) and i loved the speed of how i got to masseges, call logs, etc. The speed is extrodnary. The ugly: Battery life. The phone doesn't last a full day. Telus advertises that it lasts for up to 144hrs stand by (~6 days). That's a lie. The phone never made it full 24 hrs even with my very light use. Another bad thing about it is the fact that Telus replaced the Samsung's colourful menu with it's own modest looking menu. All in all, considering the price (CAD$300), I woulnd't recommend this phone for ppl who will not be charging this phone while in their cars on at their work place. Less

Suckish Battery, but Otherwise a Good Phone

I've had this phone for about 4 months. I really like all of the features it has. (using all of them except bluetooth) The only complaints that I really have are: 1. The Battery barely stays charged after 1 text. 2. The display goes out when you don't pay attention. 3. Can't look at text messages with...More

Overall it is a super good phone. Less

I bought this phone because it had a bunch of features I liked -- music player, sd card slot -- and I got free ones for my kids. Foolishly, I assumed it would work well as a phone. A year later, I can't wait to trade it in on something that actually has decent voice quality. I can't hear anything anyone says on this phone. Other disappointing features include the camera, which has a fixed wide-angle focus that renders all but the closest pictures too tiny to see; the music player, which works OK if you can get the driver to load right on your computer, which I haven't been able to do; and the ringtones, which, as others have noted, stink. More on ringtones later. The battery life is unimpressive, although that's in part Verizon's fault: my neighborhood is a notorious dead zone, which Verizon did not acknowledge until my husband stopped getting a signal in the house and which they don't intend to fix. The lack of signal makes the phone work harder, which burns out the battery. Durability has also been a problem: my daughter's phone fell off a table onto a wooden floor, damaging the inside screen so she couldn't see pictures. Verizon said this kind of damage wasn't covered under warranty and charged $50 to replace the phone. I'm stuck with Verizon because the people I call most are in network. But I have big beefs with them, especially concerning ringtones. When I first got this phone, I made my own ringtones with Ringtone Maker on my computer with my own MP3s and emailed them to my phone as video messages, then saved as ringtones. Worked perfectly, very cool. Then, last fall, Verizon apparently realized some subscribers were circumventing their ringtone monopoly and began blocking these messages. I've heard rumors that their servers were so overwhelmed that they had to block certain types of data transmission. If so, then charge me an appropriate amount for the data transmission -- I'd be willing to pay a buck to send myself a ringtone -- but let me put the content I want on the hardware that I own! My taste in music is better than yours, Verizon! Liberate my ringtones! Less

Overall Great Phone for the not-so-high-tech user

I've had this phone for almost a year. I've had Samsung phones for many years now, and this phone lives up to it's Samsung name. A few notes on this phone.... Previous reviewers stated that the lock button does not work. The button on the side only locks the front media player buttons. It does not however, lock the phone. To do that- you need to go into the menu. I have had no problems with the speaker either. And it DOES have speakerphone. This phone is very sturdy and durable. I did have to replace mine a few times, though- once was because an omeba type ink stain appeared on the inside of the screen- the tech was perplexed and said he'd never seen anything like that, and just replaced the phone. Overall I love this phone, and the simple easy to use interface makes it even better. I have very good luck with my battery. I usually charge it every other night. And i do text and talk intermittently throughout the day. I plan to stick with samsung as long as they continue to make great phones like this one. Less

All in all, a good phone. For us, the GPS is worth the price of admission and outweighs many cons. We use it constantly, and find it totally eliminates needing an in-car Garmin, or similar. I need the Bluetooth on to hear the voice commands in my loud diesel truck, but the system has blasted me through the worst San Fransisco and LA has to offer for road navigating. Four months with 5-day a week usage on two phones (both the wife and I) the alarm clock has failed once. Music will not play on mono Bluetooth earpiece (needs stereo headphone setup). Proprietory cable and PC sync is really clunky. Front cover needs display to stay on. Frequent echo-ey reception, but that's a problem with the service not the phone. Again, try the GPS, you'll throw your other nav systems away. Less

This is a great phone. Very solid. Good reception. Good hinge in the flip mechanism. Pretty ok to very good speaker function (not the greatest but good). It closes a bit soft so it feels like it will flip open at anytime but it doesn't. Same thing with it open...it feels like it will close without any effort but all in all I think with this I am just used to the older style flip phones with the more harsh spring action in the flip mechanism. Good phone probable the best priced phone that wil give you the options of pictures, videos, music, tv, internet and everything else. Less

Phone has everything I need and is easy to use. Like the slender size of the phone. Like the color and that it has bluetooth. One thing that it needs is a micro mini memory card so I could transfer item from old phone.
