It's gone downhill. Text messages disappear!

I'm glad I got this phone, but I need to ditch it now; will probably ditch AT&T too. I got it for a steal just after it was discontinued. I've discovered that it's losing text messages. I have google voice, and BluePhoneElite 2 I use with it. Sometimes, text messages come in that do not appear in the phone's inbox, and generate no alert, and yet appear on my computer when I view text messages using the BluePhoneElite software! For the longest time, I thought AT&T's network was to blame, as the problem is sporadic, and I'd had trouble getting messages when I tried to use my SIM in another phone too. But messages that do NOT appear in the inbox on the phone, while simultaneously they DO appear when the phone is accessed by BluePhoneElite, are a smoking gun. Anyone else have this problem? For a brief while, I could use it to get online from my laptop when no 'net connection was available without paying an extra fee, but it seems the feature has been disabled by AT&T. I only used it a few times over a month or so; ever since, it won't work. Less

I've had two of these, the first being black and the second being blue. I like this phone but I'm afraid there are a few too many issues with it for me to consider a 3rd one. Here are the two biggest problems I've encountered: 1) Durability. I dropped the first one a lot and it actually lasted quite a while and only started to malfunction gradually, making the break predictable. I was super careful with the second, only dropped it a couple times and just a few days ago it snapped in half. Waiting for a new Slvr to come. Neither phone held a charge very well, at most held one for a couple days. Otherwise, it would just die within 24 hrs. If you're going to get this phone, be extra careful with it and expect problems with the battery life/charger. Otherwise, the other problems are rather trivial and the phone's menu setup and everything is nice. Less

Whats With The Bad Reviews?

First off let me just say i have owned numerous cell phones, and i have not been more pleased with any more than the SYNC. First off let me just say i have owned numerous cell phones, and i have not been more pleased with any more than the SYNC. I owned this phone for 2 years, and never, not 1 time had a single problem out of it. It never dropped a call, and was extremely durable. I know i dropped it near 50+ times! The Battery life is very good on it, could go 5+ days on one charge (I'm a text-freak too). Very stylish and great looking! AT&T really nailed it on this phone. During the time i owned it i didn't find a flaw, or anything that i didn't like. It has a good chunk of built in memory and i have near 50+ ring tones on it, the phone i own now, the Motorola RAZR, was full after 5 ring tones, and i do not like or recommend that phone. Sadly, it met it's end at work one night, when i accidentally tossed it into a trash can filled to the rim with soft drinks :(. Worked for awhile and finally gave up, but still comes on and works every once in a blue moon. All in all this is a fantastic phone, and i would recommend this phone to anyone. Less

My husband and I both have one of these lemons. This has got to be the all-time worst phone for dropping calls. Everyone we talk to knows the call will be dropped numerous times. It's a nightmare when calling a company that has an automated system that puts you on hold for the "next available representative", you wait several minutes, it drops the call, then you have to call back and repeat it all over again. Only way I'd ever take a Samsung phone again, is if they paid me for wasted time and paid for the service too. Less

Nice looking features

from Phonedog
Pro: Good camera, hmmm; Con: Too many steps to get mid to fair product. Step, step, step, this, step, step, step, next, to call, text, photo, etc. Using experience: 18 months I like to keep it simple. No way, plus bad voice broadcast. Samsung also always has trouble with battery life estimates. Too long.

This phone sucks!

from Amazon
I have owned this phone for a little over a year and it sucks! I have had nothing but problems with it and now it's out of warranty so it's a paperweight until I can upgrade at an affordable price. Unless you're looking for a pretty paperweight, NO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE!!!!!

I've had my Samsung Sync for over a year now, and it's without a doubt the best phone I've ever had. The quality of the phone is great, the memory for pictures and music is outstanding, and most importantly, it's durable! I've dropped mine countless times, and there have been some circumstances where it was thrown full force into the ground (don't ask). It still works perfectly, despite that the casing is slightly worn. The phone is easy to navigate for people who aren't so cell phone savy (my dad has the same phone and managed to figure it out, which is something haha). The battery life is amazing, even after a year (it obviously isn't as good as it was at first). The camera is really great, especially considering it's just a phone camera. Overall, this phone is great :) Less
