Tough as nails!!!

When people make fun of me for having such an ugly, simple phone, I just recall how durable this beast is and I'm all smiles. I have personally witnessed a person drive over one of these in a car and it took it like a champ! Internally, the phone is simple, simple, simple. But what does that mean? NOTHING CAN GO WRONG...IT'S TOO SIMPLE FOR PROBLEMS!!!!!!! Actually, it even has a feature that I can't find on many other phones: it has a little light that flashes on the outside when you receive a call or text. I don't know why no new phones have this, it's so handy b/c you're not always having to open your phone to see if something happened while you left it for a while. Love it, but be warned that you will be made fun of. Less

I got this phone almost 3 years ago and to this day it is still functional and in good shape. It's taken a number of unintentional hits but has not chipped or scratched. This is a simple, simple, simple phone - no camera, basic menus, and awful ring tones. It's good if you're interested in little more than talking and texting, though there are issues with both. Many people I've spoken to whilst using this phone say that they can hear an echoing of their voice and mine, and I've heard it a few times as well. The speakerphone is absolutely useless. The phone often freezes for a second when texting, which can be very annoying, but the keys are some of the best I've experienced. Quite possibly the worst feature of this phone is the "gotcha" button on the right hand side, which either calls the last number called on its own after being pressed, or activates the voice calling feature and then calls a random person on your contacts list. This results to embarrassing moments and a lot of wasted minutes. Less

Perfect for my needs

Built like a cinder block, works great, all I need. I could stop on it, smash it with a hammer, run over it with a tractor, and call my buddy afterwords. Well, that might be an exaggeration, but it can definitely take a beating. I dropped it a few times, and only a few scuffs and chips to show for it....More

Well, that might be an exaggeration, but it can definitely take a beating. I dropped it a few times, and only a few scuffs and chips to show for it. Still works perfect after two years. If you want a camera, MP3 player, handheld game console, computer, and a miniature microwave oven with your phone then get something else. If you want a phone, nothing else, that's not going to break the first time you drop it then it's definitely worth it. Less

Dependable phone

Im 17 and this was my first phone. It really done the trick and the only reason I am getting a new one is because I drop mine in a lake! It is good with texting and quite sturdy. I would recommend it, but it is no longer manufactured. Less

don't recommend this phone

I've had a variety of phones - and this is one of my least favourites. My main hatred (strong word - but accurate) of this phone resides in the side button that CONSTANTLY initiates phone calls with people by being tapped when in a pocket or bag - or even by my cellphone case. My main hatred (strong word - but accurate) of this phone resides in the side button that CONSTANTLY initiates phone calls with people by being tapped when in a pocket or bag - or even by my cellphone case. Battery life I've found to be okay, user interface is moderate. Overall, you can do much better with almost any other phone. Less

Great phone, easy to use

from eBay
I purchased a SPH A580 Samsung used, and it worked and operates perfectly. A good basic phone without all of the gadgets I never would used. Highly dependable, I would recommend this phone to anyone.

Suchas the battery life is poor and the design of the phone is somewhat awkward. The botton at the side is bothersome when You have it in your pocket or somewhere because the botton gets pressed. I also didn't like the texting on this phone. This may have been a good phone a while ago, but there are many better phones on the market now. Less

Not Bad

My dad owned this phone and it wasn't all that bad. The speakerphone's certainly great, and the numbers are really big. There wasn't any cool features though. Pretty sweet overall.
