Comparing the Realme 7 to the Realme 7 Pro reviewers found the small improvements added up to be fairly significant.Released alongside the Realme 7, the Realme 7 Pro offers a few upgraded specs that make up for what was paired down for the sake of price on the original model.
When comparing the Realme 7 to the Realme 7 Pro reviewers found the small improvements added up to be fairly significant. For instance, the Realme 7 Pro has a super AMOLED screen, whereas the Realme 7 has an LCD making media so much nicer to watch and images much more vibrant.
If you like the Realme 7’s specs and features, then the Pro promises to improve on that -- for a slightly larger price of course.
When compared to the lower-tier phone, the Realme7 Pro both gains and loses some features. Core differences include:
- 6.4-inch super AMOLED display
- 4,500 mAh battery
- 65W fast charging
- Splash-proof rating
- 60Hz refresh rate
- Dolby Atmos speaker
The Realme 7 has a 90Hz refresh rate display, but the Realme 7 Pro does not, instead opting for 60Hz. But in return, you’ll get a better AMOLED display that blows the LED out of the water in terms of image quality.
You’ll also get a smaller battery (that’s still enough for a full day of use) but faster charging should you need it.
Like with any phone purchase, the best phone for your needs will likely depend on the features that matter most to you. It’s not that one is truly better than the other.
- Do screen sharpness and vivid colour matter most to you?
- Are you about the speed and refresh rate?
- Does a smaller battery but faster-charging sound better?
- Does a better speaker matter since they both have a headphone jack?
Both phones offer a great value -- even considering the somewhat more premium offerings of the Realme 7 Pro. For more on what to expect, be sure to check out our summary for the Realme 7.
What the Critics Are Saying...
- Andy Collier, Review HubIf display quality, performance, and affordability are your three main concerns, then the Realme 7 Pro hits the nail on the head.
- Wilson Wong, TechgoonduOn the whole, the Realme 7 Pro offers an attractive deal. If you want to surf the Web, listen to music and watch your favourite Korean dramas without breaking the bank, it performs well enough to justify its S$499 price tag.
- H Ranpura, Android HeadlinesWith the 7 Pro, Realme has taken an incremental improvement approach when compared to the 6 Pro. Image quality is very good, and overall device performance is the same or slightly better. Additionally, 65W SuperDart charging support is a genuine improvement. However, one can argue that the cameras a...
- Mike Gee, Good Gear GuideThe Realme 7 Pro sees the company take another step forward and will attract a solid clump of new users and fans. It isn’t the world’s greatest smartphone but it gives much pricier models a real run for their money.
- Florian Schmitt, NotebookcheckThe realme 7 Pro offers a lot of features at a good price. Only in the software updates the manufacturer lags behind.
