If you are looking for a feature phone that is loaded with applications and has an ultra-thin design, look no further than the Pantech Laser. This is not a smartphone but it still packs a great punch in a very small size.
The Panatech Laser offers a slide-out QWERTY keyboard for fast text messaging. The keys are a comfortable size but are a bit mushy compared to other phones and need quite a bit of force to activate.
If you slide the keyboard in, you can navigate the phone using the touch screen on the front of the device. While the screen cannot measure up to a phone such as the iPhone, it holds its own as far as feature phones go. Those who are used to higher end capacitive touch screens like those on more expensive phones will likely be disappointed though. The Laser's touch screen is not very responsive and lacks features such as multi-touch capabilities.
The operating system looks like a hybrid of Apple's iOS and Google's Andriod, but it works well. Navigating menus is easy and straightforward. Unfortunately while it looks like the phone comes with many pre-loaded applications, most of which ask you to pay for them when they are first opened up.
One of the biggest positives of the Pantech Laser is the excellent battery life. Even with moderate usage you can expect the phone to last for a couple of days before it needs a charge. However, using the data connection drops this number significantly so it is best that you turn the data connection off when you are not using it.
