The Nokia Lumia 1520 is a handheld powerhouse that has been repeatedly referred to by reviewers as the best Windows Phone released to date. TechnoBufallo's Todd Haselton rates the hardware as excellent, and GigaOM's Alex Colon says the software is "the best version of Windows Phone" ever made. The 1520 boasts a highly impressive list of specs including a full HD 6-inch IPS screen, a 20+ megapixel main camera, a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 3,400 mAh battery. It's "a lot of smartphone" says Dan Rowinksi of ReadWriteWeb.
Of course, there are flaws. As a phone, it's been deemed too big and unwieldy for the average user by The Guardian's Samuel Gibbs. Other reviewers including Matthew Miller of ZDNet seem to echo the sentiment, although they maintain that overall, it's still very much a winner.
If you're ready for an alternative to Apple and Android, the 1520 looks like a winner. It has an attractive price with a new two-year contract and plenty of powerful specs.
As Andrew Kameka of MobileBurn puts it, this mobile corrects all the past mistakes of Windows Phone models, and it provides an excellent way to dive into the new Windows ecosystem.
