Great Phone

I have no idea what everyone's complaining about. I rarely fought with this phone, and I have had it for about three years. I am upgrading now because it is so worn from using it everyday for such a long period of time. I wasn't exactly kind to this phone either-- dropped it out of a 9-storey apartment building, spilled a bunch of stuff on it, and it still works after all that. I loved it. Less

White screen of death

Same problem with turning on the phone after 13 month of use. However I could restart this phone by pressing asterix (*) and green button at the same time right after pressing "on" button. My phone is working now however my background picture is gone.

Bad phone!

White Screen of Death

I've had the same problems with my phone also... I'm with Solo Mobile (Canada) and it'll show the little introduction of Solo then my screen will simply just go white, and repeat this till eventually the phone just powers off on its own. I've only used it for a year, and I am quite dissapointed with it.

I've just started experiencing the same problem others have described - when the phone tries to power on you get a white screen and the (in my case) Bell splash, but then the screen goes blank. It repeats this cycle several times without ever actually coming on. Very frustrating! My phone is almost two years old, so I guess in a sense I've been luckier than most. My girlfriend has the same phone, got it at the same time as me, and started experiencing the same problem about 1-2 weeks ago. In her case the problem seemed to resolve itself and her phone is now working again -but probably for not much longer. It sounds like there is a serious flaw in the phone's firmware that Nokia and Bell are well aware of but aren't acknowledging. Less

$200 price of garbage...

This phone has been a huge disappointment. Like many others have said, it was great at first but after just over a year, I experienced the 'white screen of death' and couldn't turn it on. Fortunately, I had an extended warranty through my credit card that paid for the repairs. Now another year later, it has done it again. I am not going to waste my time trying to fix this overpriced paper weight again. Being a Rogers customer for over 14 years, this has been my first experience with Nokia and Bell. As Bell doesn't support SIM cards, I wasn't too impressed when I lost all my numbers the last time the phone wouldn't turn on....now it has happened again. Reading the other posts (I wish I found this site before buying the phone) it seems that Bell is well aware of the problems. I guess Nokia is the Finnish equivalent of Motorola....crap. Less
