The "1-Minute" Review

The Nokia 301 takes its design cues from traditional Nokia phones. It has a solid rectangular body, central select button and dial pad buttons. CNET notes that the 301 is geared more towards the younger crowd due to its various color options and “integration with Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp.”

In terms of hardware, the Nokia 301 boasts storage expandable up to 32GB, 64MB of memory and fast 3.5G internet streaming. According to many reviewers, the main draw of the Nokia 301 is its camera. While not up to the same standards as traditional smartphones, PhoneArena states that it does have a better camera than most traditional feature phones. The phone comes equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera that has features like voice-guided self-portrait support. TechRadar says that this particular feature works “remarkably well although you'll need to be a little patient as the feature phone processor...isn't particularly powerful, or quick.” In addition, Trusted Reviews mentions that the camera “can also take panoramic photos [and has] the ability to take sequential shots...”

Most reviewers agree that this is a decent feature phone. WPXbox thinks that the battery life on the phone “is impressive”, lasting for around 2 days with internet usage. Using the internet on the phone via Nokia Express is, according to TechRadar, “not a particularly quick way of browsing the web, but at least it's functional and allows you to do the basics.” Other reviewers however find the Nokia 301 too expensive for what it offers. Recombu notes that “it’s clear that in this instance if you want a phone with smart capabilities, buy a smartphone and if you want the simplicity of a feature phone, buy cheaper…”

The Good: Camera features allow for panoramic pictures and voice-guided self portraits, excellent battery life.

The Bad: No flash, basic web browsing abilities.
