The Motorola W755 replaces the original RAZR franchisee. It is a mid-level phone and continues the very successful “thin flip” concept pioneered by Motorola. If you are looking for a fun flip that has some enhanced features, you’ll want to check out the W755.
Available in black and purple, the W755 is a good looking phone coated in soft-touch paint and silver trim accents. It features a sturdier hinge than prior models, a more thoughtful keypad and an overall improved durability.
The W755 has a humble, monochrome, one-inch external display that is surrounded by five touch-sensitive buttons for music playback, changing between vibrate and audible ringtone and for turning Bluetooth on and off. Users will find these keys very useful as they allow instant access to commonly required tasks. No hunting to turn off your Bluetooth or multiple keystrokes to switch from audible to vibrate.
The internal display is a 170 x 220 pixel resolution supporting up to 65K colors. The alphanumeric keypad features large keys which are easy to interact with and the D-pad rests just above.
The W755 has a 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0, a WAP browser for accessing the internet and a 2.5mm jack for headphones. You also get the usual assortment of common phone features, including an alarm, to-do list, customizable options, calendar and calculator.
There have been a plethora of thin flip phones in recent years. The W755 is certainly worth your consideration but keep in mind that other contenders offer better cameras and more enhanced external displays. All things considered, Motorola does continue its tradition of making a competent, thin flip.
