Motorola RIZR Z6c review

6.9/10 AVG.
RATING

6.9/10
Informr score
The Motorola RIZR Z6c currently has an Informr score of 6.9 out of 10. This score is based on our evaluation of 3 sources including reviews from users and the web's most trusted critics.

The Motorola RIZR is the slider counterpart to the RAZR franchise, but with important and highly anticipated improvements.

Motorola uses an improved chipset in the RIZR, which measurably improves the phones speed and response time. They have also updated the user interface with an advanced menu structure and intuitive navigation, and rounds out the internal changes with a Linux operating system.

Another exciting change is the 2 megapixel camera; you need to hold the phone like a camera when taking pictures or shooting videos. Cool! You can also take pictures in either landscape or portrait mode.

The MP3 player has been refreshed as well. In addition to running Windows Media Player 11 and dedicated MP3 keys, it also plays a whole host of formats, including Windows WMAv10 plus Janus DRM, MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC+Enhanced, AMR NB, WAV, and XMF! With the USB 2.0 cable and Windows Media Player 11, you can easily drag and drop songs from your computer effortlessly.

With Mobile Phone Tools, you can just as easily sync your phonebook, contacts and other media.

The RIZR is good looking slider that has received some quality attention from Motorola, and the result is a versatile device that any cell phone customer will no doubt appreciate and use.

If you are looking for quality form and function, and especially if you are an audiophile, take a look at the RIZR.

MOTO Z6c GSM Performance

In England and France the Z76c worked fine when calling landlines however when attempting to call another mobile in either country on every occasion recieved a "call lost" message. The proper city codes were entered in both cases. It did work fine when calling the USA from England and France to either a landline or mobile phone.

The good: The Motorola Z6c offers good quality and support for both CDMA and GSM bands. The design is easy to use, and the feature set includes stereo Bluetooth and 3G capability. The bad: The Motorola Z6c GSM roaming comes with several restrictions. Also, its call-volume level could be louder and the streaming video quality was unremarkable. The bottom line: Armed with a slider design and good quality, the CDM and GSM Motorola Z6c is an ideal choice for the global Verizon Wireless customer. No matter what any CDMA advocate tells you, the technology has one big disadvantage over GSM: Far fewer countries around the world use it. So no matter how great Verizon Wireless' network is in the United States, that doesn't help you when you travel to the majority of the planet. Yet Verizon is beginning to take notice of this fact and has begun to offer dual-mode cell phones that use the carrier's extensive CDMA coverage in the United States and then switch to GSM networks when abroad. Earlier this year Verizon introduced the Rim BlackBerry 8830 for the globetrotting executive, and now it offers the Motorola Z6c for a more mainstream audience. Styled like a Moto Rizr phone--though not officially part of the Rizr family--the Z6c offers everything you expect from a V Cast handset but with the added bonus of the GSM coverage. That extra functionality will come at a price; the Z6c is $229 with service, but you can get it for $179 if you buy it online. Less
