It looks like Motorola is trying to not mess up a good thing by releasing the Android-powered Motorola RAZR V. It comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed and a design that is reminiscent of the original RAZR. Whether or not you find the hardware features impressive, the Motorola RAZR V is definitely a sight for sore eyes. At least it offers a change in design unlike many other Android smartphones that are available in the “brick” form factor.
The V utilizes a well-known processor from Texas Instruments that’s clocked at 1.2GHz and accompanied by 1GB of on-device RAM. It also offers 4GB of internal memory that can be expanded further with the use of microSD cards. It may look limited based on the above-mentioned specs alone, but in reality it is more advanced than most of the many different models that were announced and released in the past two years in the it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system by default.
With a body that measures 8mm thin and weighs 125 grams total, you might not think that this would be a durable choice for an Android smartphone. But it is actually built with a Kevlar coating and comes with not only Splash-guard protection but also a scratch-resistant touchscreen display.
Speaking of the display, it has a native resolution of 540x960 pixels and measures 4.3-inches diagonally. As you might have guessed, it has a capacitive touchscreen panel that supports multi-touch so it’s much easier to use for on-screen input. It can also be quite useful for browsing Web pages or taking pictures and recording videos with the built-in 8-megapixel camera and flash combo at the back.
No matter which way you look at it, the RAZR V is dressed to impress. More powerful models with much bigger screens may be available, but of course those models cost more money too. If the V falls into your budget range, it certainly wouldn't be a crime to fancy it and take one home from the store. Just as long as you pay the cashier before you go, that is.

What the Critics Are Saying...
- Daniel Bader, Mobile SyrupIt’s an excellent deal if you want an all-round high-performing handset with a great screen, good battery life and a solid, close-to-stock operating system.
- Ross Catanzarit, Tech AdvisorMotorola doesn't break any new ground with the RAZR V, but it is better designed than its predecessor. However, the RAZR V ultimately offers little incentive to switch from rival brands.
