Informr score
The Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD currently has an Informr score of 8.3 out of 10. This score is based on our evaluation of 10 sources including reviews from users and the web's most trusted critics.

The Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD is for the new type of road warrior. It’s for those who can manage to get work done with nothing more than just a capable smartphone on hand. It comes with nearly all of the latest hardware and software features available on the market, and the best thing about it is that it has the capacity to actually last an entire day on a charge. It can do this thanks to its massive 3,300mAh battery.

The MAXX HD runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the default operating system, which is plenty good despite there being newer versions already available on other devices. With this version of Android, it’s easy to take the hardware bits—which include a 4.7-inch HD screen, an 8-megapixel main camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera, and 32GB of storage—and put them all to good use. It also supports the most important types of wireless connectivity: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, HSPA+, and LTE.

It’s not as rugged as it looks, but its touchscreen is definitely well-protected thanks to a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. That’s a little something that’s easy to appreciate even if you don’t really fancy its styling. But whether or not you find the extra bulk distracting, one thing’s for sure: it’s a certifiable heavy-duty performer.

All in all, the Motorola Droid Maxx HD offers a great amount of power, without much sacrifice. And while we’re not exactly in love with Motorola’s U.I. overlay for Android, the inclusion of smart actions for optimizing battery life is welcome. Also its 4.7″ HD AMOLED screen display...

At $300 on contract, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is on the expensive end of the smartphone spectrum. Is the extra battery life worth the extra $100? If you value battery life, the answer is yes. If you don’t mind tweaking some settings or using SmartActions to get the most out of your batt...
