Fone Arena

Good build, good performance

from Fone Arena

Overall, the Lumia 532 Dual SIM is a good upgrade to the Lumia 530 Dual SIM. There are several improvements in terms of specifications and software. Lumia Denim adds several features and the performance is smooth. The smartphone is available in the market for as low as Rs. 6,100, which makes it a decent Windows Phone handset for the price. It is also one of the few budget Windows Phone smartphones that will get Windows 10 update. Microsoft recently released a new Windows 10 Technical Preview build that support this smartphone.

Digital Versus

Added power, all for naught

from Digital Versus

Even with beefier hardware than the Lumia 435, the Lumia 532 isn't particularly more impressive. The performance is the same, despite its extra processor cores. That said, both run fluidly enough. And the 5 Mpx camera doesn't improve the picture quality as much as one might hope. Not enough to justify the hike in price, at least. As we did with the Lumia 435, we'll end by saying that while the Lumia 532 is a perfectly fine investment, you can find better at the same price—or much better for just a little bit more cash.

Notebookcheck

Decent price/performance ratio

from Notebookcheck

Unruffled by the somewhat confusing name-giving policy of Microsoft's low-cost smartphones, price-conscious buyers will always find a good bargain among them. The Lumia 532 comes with an acceptable camera, enough power for smooth use and a lot of preloaded software for not quite 100 Euros (~$107). Although obvious compromises have to be made in terms of connectivity and, above all, screen most buyers will be able to tolerate that in this price range.

A feature phone in smartphone clothing

from Digit

The Microsoft Lumia 532 feels and works like a feature phone rather than the usual smartphone. It lacks performance, a good camera, a good screen and better options can be found powered by Android. The Lumia 532 is not a good buy and you will be better off with something from the Android stable at an equivalent price point.

There are plenty of grey areas that overshadows its pros

from The Mobile Indian

Design wise, the Microsoft Lumia 532 is lot different and in some sense better than its competitors. So if you are bored with look-alike Android phones, this will please your eyes. However, its processing power and fixed focus cameras negate its positives. Sadly, Microsoft's other offerings in the same price bracket isn't any good. So either take it or opt for Android phones.

UnleashThePhones

Another affordable that does not boast any one remarkable feature

from UnleashThePhones

The Microsoft Lumia 532 is an affordable, quick little windows phone.

Performance and build quality is great for the price tag, though the camera and display aren’t the best out there. Plus it comes with a front facing camera which is rare to find at this price point.

At Rs 6499 here in India, it does have some competition from companies like Lava and Celkon that have windows phones selling even cheaper. The Xiaomi Redmi 1S used to be an incredible value for money smartphone at the same price, but it is no longer being sold here in India.

The main competition at this price point, comes from Google’s Android One phones like the Micromax Canvas A1 or Spice Dream UNO. They each have their own pros and cons but both Micromax and Spice don’t have as great service centres as Microsoft (via the Nokia acquisition) does.

Then there’s the 2015 Moto E which runs almost stock Android, has a front facing camera, and very similar specs, in colourful designs. The Lumia 532 does not have any one advantage over Motorola’s offering, making the 2nd Gen Moto E an extremely viable alternative to consider. Your choice boils down to whether you’d want an Android phone (the 2015 Moto E), or a Windows Phone at this price point.

Honestly though, if you really want a windows phone, I’d recommend just saving up and buying the Lumia 535 instead, which I feel is way more value for money than the Lumia 532. Yet, that being said, the Lumia 532 is still a better phone than the Lumia 530.

At the end of the day, the Lumia 532 is a nice enough phone, at a very affordable price tag. But there are some very decent Android smartphones around the same price that are also worth checking out.
