LG Decoy 8610 review

RATING

6.8/10
Informr score
The LG Decoy 8610 currently has an Informr score of 6.8 out of 10. This score is based on our evaluation of 4 sources including reviews from users and the web's most trusted critics.

From the innovative and highly stylized folks at LG comes the new LG Decoy, a vertical slider running on the CDMA network, and doing it very well I might add.

The Decoy comes complete with a an A2DP Bluetooth headset which stows neatly away onboard the phone! *(The A2DP headset allows you to listen to music and receive calls).

With good call quality, an easy user interface and tactile keys, there isn’t much that can be criticized unless you want to discuss the old and boring “fingerprint smudge” problem, a problem you’ll encounter with any show phone. Besides, if you like flash, you will love the fascia of this phone; the entire front absolutely gleams with a mirror-like finish.

The 2.2 inch screen is generous and crystal clear, able to produce 262k colors. That’s a lot given that I can only see about five when walking around town.

The navigation array is spacious, resting just below the display. It includes two soft keys, a clear key and a real joystick right smack in the middle. The joystick is an improvement over others attempts at a multi-directional button.

When you slide the Decoy open it reveals an attractive and familiar alphanumeric keyboard. The Decoy even has a slight edge on the exterior that allows you to slide it open with a single flip of the thumb.

The LG Decoy and another great phone in a line of LG shiny, show phones that back up their looks with intelligent design.

On the cutting edge in terms of innovation and convenience

from MobileBurn

Despite a few minor flaws, Verizon's Decoy from LG is on the cutting edge in terms of innovation and convenience. The built-in Bluetooth headset proved to be at the top of my list in making this phone headset combo a winner. Along with decent audio quality, 3G connectivity, and stereo Bluetooth on the phone itself, users should consider the Decoy as a real contender when shopping for a cell phone. Yes, the mirrored finish was difficult to see under bright sunlight and the headset fit and audio leave some room for improvement, but I am all for 2-for-1 deals and this is just too good to pass up...

I bought an LG Decoy Limited Edition 3 weeks ago. I am very pleased with my purchase and would not hesitate to recommend the Decoy to anyone looking for this type of phone. It makes me sick how so many people always complain about the most meaningless nonsense when offering an opinion. By the way, these opinions are more credible when those who submit them know how to spell. Otherwise they look like jackasses. Less
