Lenovo is once again attempting to make a splash in the premium smartphone market. The Vibe Z2 Pro offers the best specs in nearly every category available at the time of writing, but does the design and software back it up? Let’s head to the reviews and see!
Following recent trends, the body of the phone is mostly aluminum construction with only the top and bottom bezels using plastic. It features a boxy design, with sharp edges and a flat back. Reviews were positive on nearly all aspects of the phone’s design, with Fone Arena noting that “handling the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro is a joy.” Small screen bezels also lend a clean, tight look to the phone. NDTV remarked on this, calling it “quite possibly the most compact device available with a 6-inch screen.”
That screen isn’t just any 6-inch display, its an IPS quad-HD display running at 2560-by-1440 pixels. As one of the highest resolutions currently available on mobile devices, reviews on detail and clarity were outstanding. However, there were a couple minor issues. Fone Arena found “the contrast ratio is only average and the colors are a bit too saturated.” NDTV agreed, commenting that it was “a very good, if not great, display.”
Pushing all those pixels, you’ll find a quad-core 2.5Ghz Snapdragon 801 and 3GB of RAM. While there are a few Snapdragon sets with a little more power, reviews were generally positive. Though some noted that gaming performance suffered when settings were pushed to the max. GSM Arena stated, “performance is more than satisfactory.”
On the rear of the phone, you’ll find a 16MP rear camera with dual LED flash. Many reviews questioned Lenovo’s decision to have the camera protrude slightly from the back of the handset. Combined with the gloss mount and red bezel and you can’t miss the camera. However, when put to the test, every reviewer loved the camera. The most critical review came from GSM Arena, stating that the camera offers “pleasing overall results, if not quite chart-topping.” Absolute Geeks’ opinion fell closer in line with other reviews, calling it “one of the best camera’s we’ve ever tested on a smartphone.”
Other specs include a spacious 32GB of storage and a 4000mAh battery. Take note that the phone does not offer microSD card support. So while the 32GB is generous, that is all you get. In reviews, the battery offered a solid day’s use, though not much more. If you’re a power user, you should find this phone a welcome reprieve from the great power outlet hunt.
In general, reviews for the Vibe Z2 Pro are stellar. Apart from the camera design, there were very little issues raised with the phone. Fone Arena called it a “great device beyond any shadow of doubt” while GMS Arena praised it as a “marvelous piece of hardware.”
What the Critics Are Saying...

- Jamboor Nagesh, Fone ArenaAll in all, the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro is one of the best phablets available in the market at the moment. The device is available exclusively via Flipkart for INR 32,999 and we are sure that you will not regret buying this monster.

- Nimish, TechPPLenovo takes a leaf out of its rival’s dictionary, and offers stunning value for relatively little money. The Vibe Z2 Pro in its way is as radical as the Mi 3, when it comes to the price-performance equation.

- GSMArena team, GSMArenaThe Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro is as classy just as it is big. Lenovo has done a great job at putting together a marvelous piece of hardware. The metal build not only looks good, but also gives you that premium feel that's a must for a handset in this price range. In spite of its massive display, the Vibe Z2...

- Ershad Kaleebullah, NDTVOne look at the Vibe Z2 Pro's price of Rs. 32,990 immediately makes us want to compare it with the Moto X (Gen 2). It is priced similarly and has similar specs too. We like the Moto X (Gen 2) slightly better than the Vibe Z2 Pro thanks primarily to a far superior software experience and better ergon...

- Khaled Akbik, Absolute GeeksPacks a stunning display, power under the hood and a fantastic camera, then this phone is definitely worth your money.
