It’s a pretty impressive phone. And if you’re worried about that whole thing about how Huawei might spy on you for China through your phone … well at least with that 32 MP selfie camera, you can be assured your hacked nudes will look impeccable!

The primary 40MP camera takes outstanding photos, but it's the zoom lens that makes the phone particularly enticing: there are no other devices that take such detailed photos at 5x z...

Common Questions

Huawei released the P30 Pro on April 5, 2019.

The P30 Pro price will vary depending on retailer, age, special offers and whether or not it's purchased with a service plan. If purchased with a 2 year service contract for example, you would likely pay much less for the phone itself up front. You can compare Huawei P30 Pro prices from around the web here on The Informr.

Huawei backs up the P30 Pro with a 1 Year parts & labour warranty.

If your P30 Pro has problems and is still within its warranty period, you could contact Huawei support or the retailer you purchased the phone from. You'll find Huawei's contact information here. If your phone is off warranty and needs repair for a physical problem such as a broken screen or bad battery, you should visit an authorized service centre or a local phone repair shop. With an exquisite design backed by one of the best cameras you'll find today, the P30 Pro is a stellar phone in 2019. The primary 40MP camera takes outstanding photos, but it's the zoom lens that makes the phone particularly enticing: there are no other devices that take such detailed photos at 5x zoom. EMUI is no longer a limiting factor, the battery life is outstanding, and the hardware is top-notch. Put it all together and you get a knockout phone.

If you look at the P30 Pro on its merits alone there is no other flagship on the market today I’d rather have in my pocket. It’s combination of photography prowess, raw power and battery life make for a deadly combination. When we look at Huawei’s current problematic situation the answer takes on new shape. The risk of it not being truly supported in the future has meant some stores have begun pulling the phone from shelves.

Huawei has seen its smartphone strategy flipped on its head in recent weeks. Despite its issues with the US trade ban, the Huawei P30 Pro is an incredible device which can compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S10 and many other flagship devices we’ve seen this year.  The Huawei P30 Pro goes beyond featuring some of the best hardware packed into a smartphone, including optics which redefine expectations for a smartphone camera. But there’s much more than just the lenses to be impressed by.

The handset is choke full of camera innovations and the software still manages to keep things simple at the user end. We managed to shoot awesome shots without putting in much work. Figuring out the right color mode preference took us a while, but we gradually settled for  Standard colors. The Super Zoom is unlike what we have seen on any other phone till date, and the low light performance is excellent. The camera also manages to capture an impressive amount of details across all shooting modes and options.

The Huawei P30 Pro looks like a fabulous phone, especially for consumers who value a great camera – which is perhaps everyone. We are really taken in by lowlight photography and the superzoom, and I guess it will be a while before the novelty fades off. This is the kind of camera innovation that we expect to see on flagships. Huawei doesn’t compromise on any other smartphone aspect either, and the complete experience of P30 Pro is impressive, to say the least.

The real deal breakers in my experience with the P30 Pro revolved around the terrible background app management, which regularly kept important apps from running and delivering notifications. If this can be solved, as well as ensuring users that they’ll continue to receive support from the industry at large, most of the other negatives will trickle down to simple issues that can be overlooked.
