The software leaves something to be desired and it lacks a few features, such as water-resistance, wireless charging and a microSD card slot, but these are minor issues, especially given the price of the phone. All in all it’s one of the very best phones you can get for around £400 SIM-free at the time of writing.

While Magic OS isn’t to everyone’s taste, the interface holds enough features and functions to be tolerated, if not actually enjoyed. It’s not perfect, but it’s the best affordable, mid-range flagship you can currently buy.

A great all-rounder

At the end of the day it all boils down to if you like to have the latest flagship design and chipset by Huawei/Honor, and some good interpretation of latest developments in Huawei's camera department. If that's a yes, the Honor 20, or 20 Pro, are quite good offers with a nice pick of features and reasonable pricing.

Offers a nearly top-flight experience for just £400

from The Guardian

The Honor 20 is another cracking, well specified, solid performing, well made phone from Huawei. It’s got the same top-end Kirin 980 chip as the excellent P30 Pro, long battery life and good screen. The camera is also pretty good, if you ignore the quad-camera hype and concentrate on the main and wide-angle cameras on the back.
