Geek

Enough power for basic tasks

from Geek

This is a hugely affordable handset, and while it's obvious to see where the cuts have been made, the Y330 doesn't feel cheap. The design is clean and simple, and the materials are good quality. Most simple tasks can be accomplished without any strain or struggle, and there is no need to buy anything else to get going right away. If you're a first time user, and you want to buy a phone that is cheap, simple, and yet still running a proper version of Android, then it'll be hard to find something that matches the Y330 for value for money!

OK, so the Y330 doesn't play media and big... Full review

Huawei Y330 is a very good, solid basic phone, especially for it's price. Pros: -Very well made, good quality materials (unlike some other phones in that price segment), likely to be reliable. -Relatively compact in size (especially compared to many other today's devices, that can't fit even large pockets and can only be carried in a separate bag). -Good antenna, no problems with the cellular signal and other wireless connectivity almost anywhere I go with it. -Relatively good battery life (lasts for up to three days on one full charge in an economy mode, with 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth off, and when used for calls, SMS, music, and some occasional Internet browsing). -Fast performance for most basic tasks, when not used heavily. -Very affordable price. Only $80 for a brand new phone in Best Buy Mobile. Good luck finding anything cheaper :) Cons: -The main one, in my opinion, is the LACK OF PROXIMITY SENSOR, a feature that is standard even on cheapest touch-screen phones of most other manufacturers (it only costs the manufacturer 1-2 pennies to add it to the device features, but Huawei decided to save money). When you talk on the phone, and take it away from your ear, the screen doesn't turn back on automatically, like it does on most other phones. To turn it on, you have to manually press the Power button every time, which can be very annoying. -No back light for 3 sensor keys under the touch screen. The manufacturer decided to save a couple of cents on LEDs as well. -A couple of minor glitches in the software (e.g., WiFi turns on by itself some time after the device is powered on or rebooted). Overall, with the exception of a few minor drawbacks, Huawei Y330 is a good, well-made, and reliable device, and if you don't find a modest performance and lack of proximity sensor too much of an issue, I definitely recommend getting this device, since the price of $80 is more than adequate for the smartphone of this type.
