Nicely perform as a basic smartphone

from MobileBurn

The new 2009 edition of the Shadow comes from T-Mobile with the claim that it is "the official phone of fun", but unfortunately it fails to hold up to that claim. The 2 megapixel camera barely gets the job done, and the internet browser is the same Pocket Internet Explorer that has been on Windows Mobile for years. However, thanks to the included 3.5mm adapter, the music experience is quite nice, and WiFi is a handy feature for both browsing the web and using T-Mobile's UMA-based HotSpot @Home service. Despite the T-Mobile Shadow for 2009 being somewhat boring, it does perform nicely as a basic smartphone. Calls are clear, the menus are snappy, and it's built nicely. Based on this, we at MobileBurn.com give the T-Mobile Shadow a "Recommended" rating, though you'll need to look further if you want fun....

It has a lot going for it, but the poor battery life is more than enough to keep the Shadow from getting our highest ranking. But because of all of the things it does well, it still earns a "Recommended" rating.
