Why won't GIFs work on my ZTE Quartz?

I open my gallery to play a gift but it just shuts the gallery down when I hit play.

Odd, I'm using an older model phone and it works.

Try installing a 3rd party GIF viewer app:
- GifTag (link)
- Animated GIF Viewer (link)
- QuickPic (link)
