Ahahahaha! The instructions worked! I apparently disabled my "google" app and I noticed the next day that my Mic Icon disappeared... All better now! Thanks a bunch, Robert Smith!!

I know this is 3 months later. Not sure if you figured it out. What you have to do is simple.
- Go to your Playstore
- Enter Samsung Avant Speak to Text
(a bunch of free Apps should appear. The one you need will have the Google logo and say Google)
- You will select the Blue Google icon for speak to text.
When you open it, it should say that you already have it. It should then be listed as "disabled."
-Enable your app.
-Follow the instructions someone has already provided up above and when you open your text messaging, it should appear where it should be.

See...it wasn't that simple for me. I couldn't figure out why there was no mic on my keyboard. I was starting to think i didn't have the option. We do. in settings scroll down to the System section, click on language and input. Keep the samsung keyboard checked, but check the Google voice typing box. Ta-da! Problem solved. Now you can easily find the mic at the bottom of the keyboard when sending a message. Hope I was helpful.

I have tried all available options to get the mic option for voice txting but nothing is working.
my girl cleaned some apps she said "I didn't need" yesterday and since then I have not had the mic. Can u help me? Start at the beginning, I guess? Because she doesn't remember every app she cleaned so idk where to start.

Yes, while typing a message, check your keyboard for a microphone like icon. That activates voice typing.
