How do I avoid getting extra charges from MTS when travelling outside Canada?

My daughter has an iPhone 4 and she is travelling to Chicago in two days. What part of her phone can she use without being charged anything extra? What settings would we have to change?

Hi Kelly, have you thought of simply taking the SIM card out of the iPhone 4? Just pop the SIM tray open and take it out. Your daughter can still use her phone to go online and use messaging or other communication apps as well as pretty much any other kind of app with the use of Wi-Fi. That's a sure way to avoid incurring any charges at all while she's outside of Canada.
