Hi Gaz, adding photos to contacts can be done through the Gallery app. Go to Gallery and select the photo you would like to use, then press the menu button and choose the option that says Set picture as. Then choose Contact photo out of the options that pop up. You'll just have to specify which contact you would like to use the photo for. Try it and see if it works!
